Early 20th Century Hand-Painted Guilloche Enamel Locket
Early 20th Century Hand-Painted Guilloche Enamel Locket
Large 800 silver locket dating to the early 1900s, featuring a beautifully hand-painted pastoral scene in the Rococo revival style, set beneath translucent enamel over fine guilloche engine-turning. The reverse displays a striking pale aqua guilloche pattern. The hinged locket rotates open to reveal a gilded interior with its original frames and inserts, plus a later paper print of a classical French lady. Some enamel loss to the upper area of the front panel, reflected in the price. A substantial and decorative piece of continental enamel work.
