Handmade Resin Cilea Paris “Kyoto” Waterlily Drop Earrings

The pair of large drop earrings were handcrafted by Cilea Bijoux in France from emaline, an enamelled resin. Inspired by Japanese waterlilies, each one is designed with tiered and hinged circular elements featuring radiant gold-tone segments and contrasting black centres. The rear is fitted with a gold-plated brass pin (for pierced ears) affixed to a pad on the reverse, with stabiliser. The pad is marked “Cilea Paris”. 

Maison Cilea was established in 1992 in Paris France, when Stephane Ravel, previously an accountant, encountered the artist Monique Vedie and was inspired by the possibilities that the resin from Talosel, a cellulose acetate, offered in the innovative production of costume jewellery. He named the venture after his wife, and today their two daughters Ameline and Ambre continue the Cilea Bijoux adventure in creating fresh, flowery and fun treasures. Each Cilea Bijoux item is handcrafted – slight variations in colour and detail may occur.
