Mid-Century Danish Silver and Amber Niels Erik From Ring
The vintage, mid-Century ring is crafted in sterling silver, with a plain band affixed to a stylised head, which includes a “floating” square frame surrounding a central tube-set cone of natural amber. The band is stamped “FROM” and “925S” for sterling silver.
Niels Erik (N E) From started his jewellery studio in 1931, aged 23. In the 1940’s, From became known for jewellery with floriate motifs, set with semi-precious stones, in the Danish Arts and Crafts style. In the 1960’s, From become even more famous for his pieces in the more severe Modernist style. From died in 1986. The studio was taken over by his son but ceased trading a few years later.
