Vintage 9ct Gold Diamond and Ruby Tennis Bracelet
The vintage 9ct gold bracelet is made 34 yellow gold links, claw-set with one ruby each, and 34 white gold links, claw-set with two diamonds each, as well as a tongue-and-box closure with two safety clips. The rubies are round, mixed-cuts approximately 3.0mm diameter – circa 3.74ct total; purplish red colour; moderately included. The diamonds are round, eight-cut, approximately 1.3mm diameter – circa 0.68ct total). The bracelet is marked “9K” on the tongue.
This design of bracelet acquired the name “Tennis Bracelet” at the US Open Tennis Tournament, in 1987, when the tennis star Chris Evert served a ball so hard that her diamond bracelet, of this type of design, came flying off her wrist!
