Sterling Silver, Coral and Pearl Drop Earrings
The modern sterling silver drop earrings have pins and butterflies. They are in the form of studs, which are six-petaled silver flowers (set with a central freshwater pearl – 6mm diameter; round; smooth; white with pink overtones; good lustre; no noticeable blemishes). The studs support pendants each made up of a loop of 19 vintage, natural, graduated, coral beads (3mm – 4.5mm). The earrings are marked “ZA; 925” with “925” on the butterflies. They were handmade by Alex Hyslop, a Johannesburg jeweller.
