The modern sterling silver brooch / pendant is in the shape of a horse’s head and has an attached pendant horseshoe. It is set with marcasite. The brooch is marked “925” and has other marks on the pin. It has a fixed bale at the top of the back of the head, enabling it to be worn as alternatively a pendant.
