Sterling Silver and Brown Agate Ring by WWL
The vintage, hand-made, sterling silver ring is set with an oval, cabochon polished, slightly pointed, brown agate (14.5mm x 11.6mm x circa 8.0mm – circa 9ct) in a rub-over setting with silver bar decoration on the shoulders. The ring is marked “WWL; STERLING”.
WWL is believed by some collectors to be a South African producer of designer hand-made jewellery in the mid-20th Century, but there is also some evidence that the mark belongs to William Wilkinson Limited, an English manufacturer. No conclusive information is available.
