Sterling Silver and Amber “Cross” Pendant Necklace
The modern, sterling silver pendant is in the form of a shaped silver cross with a small fixed ring and a hinged figure-of-eight bale. The cross is tube-set with six cabochon polished pieces of green amber, all with some inclusions. There is a central round amber (approximately 4mm diameter) and a further five oval pieces of amber (approximately 5.5mm x 4mm). The pendant hangs from a fine curb chain with a bolt-ring closure. The cross, the bale, and the chain are marked “925”. The chain also has a further mark resembling a three-leaf clover.
