Sterling Silver, Amber and Marcasite Drop Earrings
The modern, sterling silver drop earrings each have a pin and butterfly. On each pin there is a rectangle (set with six marcasite) which supports a short length of cable chain, which, in turn, supports a pendant. The pendants are open-work, pear-shaped, with 20 marcasite set round the perimeter, and an oval cabochon polished amber (7.8mm x 5.7mm) occupying part of the open space. The earrings and butterflies are marked “925”.
