The modern silver and 18ct yellow gold brooch is a safety-pin type brooch, which is mounted with a number of elements with varied shapes, and has beads and small charms strung on one arm of the safety pin. There are two small cabochon polished amethyst (one oval – 5.5mm x 4mm; one square – 4mm square) set in gold tube settings as wall as an applied gold star.
