Pewter Beaker from Degussa

The vintage pewter beaker features a depiction of production of charcoal. The inscription “Verkohlung des Holzes in stehenden Meilern (The charing of wood in vertical reactors) is in Gothic German letters. The beaker is marked DEGUSSA on the base and has two further impressed marks. There is a sticker on the base reading “ZINN-GIESSER-INNUNG; HANDWERKS-SIEGEL”.
