Japanese Zushi Buddhist Portable Shrine, probably Meiji Period
The zushi shrine (portable Buddhist shrine) consist of an oval section box with hinged ring bale and hinged opening doors, which, when opened, reveal a gilded interior and a carved wooden figure with multiple arms (some lacking). Apart from the missing arms the shrine is in good condition for its age. The shrine is probably from the Meiji period 1868-1912 or possibly earlier.
