Hand-Painted Glass and Sterling Silver Dressing Table Bottle
The antique Victorian dressing table bottle is made of green glass which has applied hand-painted decoration. The bottle has a sterling silver mount and lid. The lid has been pierced with an irregular pattern of fine holes. The interior of the lid is gilded. The collar and lid are marked with the sterling silver, lion passant mark, London hallmark; the maker’s mark “J.B” (Jane Brownet); and the date letter for 1888. The lid is also marked with the name of the retailer “Percy Edward & Co, 71 Piccadilly”. The collar is marked with the Young Victoria duty mark.
