Early 20^th Century Silver and Amethyst Brooch

The vintage sterling silver brooch has an oval-cut amethyst (approximately 21mm x 17mm x 12mm – circa 30ct) tube-set into an open-work surround with roses and leaves. The roses are gilded inside. The brooch is marked “830” and has other marks, indicating that it is 83% silver, a grade of silver frequently used for silver jewellery made in Continental Europe
