Art Deco Platinum and Precious Gemstone Necklace
Art Deco Platinum and Precious Gemstone Necklace
The Art Deco period, platinum pendant/ brooch is in the shape of a bow and is suspended from an 18ct white gold, fine, cable chain. The bow is set with ten, square-cut emeralds (circa 0.01ct each), 29 square-cut blue sapphires (0.05ct each), and a total of 84 round, old brilliant-cut diamonds (one 0.10ct; one 0.03ct; two 0.01ct; and 80 0.005ct each). The two largest diamonds are set in a small pendant suspended from the bow. The has two small, fixed loops on the back, and an 18ct white gold, fine cable chain with a lobster-claw closure is threaded through these. The chain can be removed so that the pendant can alternatively be worn as a brooch. The bow is unmarked but has been electronically tested to be made of platinum. The chain, which is made later than the bow, is marked “18K”.
