Antique Yellow and White Gold, Diamond and Pearl Necklace
The antique, necklace has an articulated centrepiece, made of a 14ct yellow gold back with a 9ct white gold front, and an 18ct yellow gold chain.
The centrepiece is composed of stylised flowerheads, foliage, and scrolls; and is embellished with four pearls (6.2mm; 4.3mm; and two 3.4mm – all light grey with moderate green and rose overtones; round with minor blemishes; and good lustre; probably natural pearls); and is set with 28 senaille-cut diamonds (circa 0.42ct total).
The chain is snake-like with tubular sections strung on fine gold wire, and with a tube-shaped clasp.
The clasp and the centrepiece are marked with marks that are unclear. The necklace has been tested by electronic scan and it was found that the chain is 18ct yellow gold; the back of the centrepiece is 14ct yellow gold; and the front of the centrepiece is 9ct white gold.
