Antique 15ct Gold, Metal Alloy and Diamond Hinged Bangle

The 15ct gold bangle bracelet is hinged and has a safety chain and probably dates from the mid-20th Century. The front of the bangle was probably part of a different piece (possibly a brooch) and was later applied to the bangle. The front dates from circa 1830 (late Georgian) and has leaf and open-work design which has a textured surface and is set with 39 rose-cut diamonds. (There are 6 spaces where small diamonds are lacking, only visible when examined very closely). It is estimated that the diamonds weigh about 1.5ct in total. As is typical with most rose-cut diamonds of this period, the cut of the stones is irregular, which makes estimating the weights of stones a little difficult. The quality of the stones is variable. The value of the piece lies in the value of the metals, and its age and design, rather than the value of the stones. The bangle is unmarked but has been electronically scanned and tests to be at least 14.8ct yellow gold, and the mount tests to be a metal alloy, including 45% copper, 43% silver, 9% gold, and 1.8% zinc.
