The modern hand-made ring is made up of an 18ct yellow gold bezel and a sterling silver shank. The bezel is tube-set with a 0.76ct fancy dark brown princess-cut diamond (clarity circa SI1). The ring was made for, and sold by Read’s Gallery of Rosebank, Johannesburg. An original valuation certificate for R77 900.00, dated May 2016, is available. The ring is marked “925; 18CT; C”; where the C is presumably the maker’s mark.
