18ct Gold, Green Tourmaline and Diamond Pendant by John Klynsmith    

The modern 18ct yellow gold pendant is claw-set with a step-(emerald)-cut, deep-green, natural tourmaline (approximately 13.5mm x 13.5mm x circa 7.5mm – circa 8.5ct; deep-green; eye-clear). The tourmaline is topped by two round, brilliant-cut, claw-set diamonds (one approximately 3.7mm diameter – circa 0.20ct; colour G-H; clarity SI2; the other approximately 2.5mm diameter – circa 0.05ct; colour G-H; clarity VS. The tourmaline and diamonds are set into an open gold frame with a fixed bale at the back. The pendant is marked “18CT” and “KLYNSMITH”. This shows that it was designed and made by the late John Klynsmith, a prominent South African jeweller.
