18ct Gold, Opal and Diamond Drop Earrings
The vintage earrings are made of 18ct white gold tube settings, for the stones, connected by yellow gold rods with triangular sections. The earrings have yellow gold pins and white gold butterflies. Each earring has an oval cabochon polished white opal, top and bottom (approximately 6.5 x 5.0mm – circa 1.3ct total; green and blue opalescence), and a round brilliant-cut diamond in the centre (approximately 3.4mm diameter – c. 0.25ct total; colour I-J; clarity SI1 – I1). The earrings are unmarked but have been electronically scanned and test to be 18ct yellow and white gold. The butterflies are struck “18CT” and “ZA”.
