Vintage 9ct Gold Padlock Clasp

The vintage 9ct gold padlock has a shackle that opens and is hinged. It also has a small, fixed loop under the shackle, which is designed to have a safety-chain pass through it. The padlock can thus be worn as clasp for a bracelet or necklace. The padlock is marked with “9ct”, maker’s mark which is for E, Tiessen of Johannesburg, and letter for 1970.
