18ct Gold, Diamond and Onyx Drop Earrings
The vintage 18ct gold drop earrings have pins and butterflies. There is a tube-set, round, brilliant-cut, diamond (approximately 2.6mm diameter – circa 0.06ct each) attached to each of the pins. The tubes of the setting support a plain down-comer, which in turn supports a tear-drop shaped pendant. The pendants are set with a tear-drop-shaped polished onyx (approximately 2ct each), which, in turn, has a tear-drop-shaped gold bezel in the centre. These central bezels are each claw-set with two round, brilliant-cut, diamonds (upper diamond approximately 2.4mm diameter – circa 0.04ct each; the lower diamond approximately 3.8mm diameter – circa 0.20ct each). This makes a total diamond weight of approximately 0.60ct for the pair of earrings, with colours about G-H and clarity VS. The earrings are marked “18Ct” and the butterflies are marked “375” for 9ct gold.
