The vintage pink spinel brooch and matching earrings are in 9ct yellow and white gold. There are no marks but the metal has been electronically scanned and tests as 9ct gold.

The brooch is set with 3 x cultured pearls (6.8mm, 6.1mm and 4.2mm; round, smooth, good lustre, white with slight grey overtones; no significant blemishes), and claw-set with 1 x synthetic, emerald-cut pink spinel (circa 20mm x 14mm / 22ct), and pavé-set with the following 18 round brilliant-cut diamonds, with a combined weight of circa 2.24ct (all VVS-VS clarity, colour G-H):
