Vintage 18ct Gold, Crystal, Diamond, and Ruby Multistrand Necklace
The vintage necklace is composed of a pendant brooch centrepiece clipped onto a multistrand necklace.
The highly decorative, scrolled openwork pendant brooch is crafted in 18ct yellow gold with a white gold front, and is set with four large, clear, round-cut crystals (circa 1x 6.8mm / 1.25ct; 2x 6.5mm / 1.00ct; and 1x 6.0mm / 0.75ct; possibly later replacements). The pendant brooch is further pave-set with approximately 100 round-cut diamonds (ranging in size from circa 0.01ct to 0.15ct each; circa 6ct combined total). The rear yellow gold framework is fitted with a brooch pin and clip. Additionally, towards the top of the rear framework, the structure opens slightly in two places to allow a fine chain or rope to be fitted through, or a necklace to clipped onto the brooch, such that the brooch can be worn alternatively as a pendant centrepiece. The pendant brooch is unmarked but has been electronically scanned and has been confirmed as 18ct gold.
The multistrand necklace is composed of five strands, each of approximately 145 faceted ruby beads (circa 4mm diameter x 2.5mm each; inclusions; circa 300ct combined total). The ends of the ruby strands are held by two crescent-shaped 14ct white gold elements. The front of each of these crescent shapes is pave-set with nine round-cut diamonds (circa 0.54ct combined total). A white gold hook is affixed to each of the crescent shapes, such that the necklace can be attached to a brooch, pendant, or clasp. The necklace is unmarked but the crescent shapes have been electronically scanned and confirmed to be at least 14ct gold.
